Di Bruno Bros

A premier identity for the Philadelphia gourmet destination

The iconic Philadelphia specialty store for food aficionados called on our NY creative team to create its new packaging identity. After years of incremental designs, it was time to organize the growing product line and give it a coherent presentation.

We collaborated directly with ownership to identify and depict the brand pillars.

The result is a clear yet evocative visual language bridging Di Bruno Bros‘ core values with existing and future products.

Touring stores and understanding their people, our brand designers met the client at home: Di Bruno’s infamous “House of Cheese” in the Italian Market in Philadelphia. After analyzing the sales and brand goals, we carefully examined competitors and the specialty food market as a a whole.
Together with Di Bruno Bros management, we established simple-to-follow pillars for the brand:
Italian Origins
Culinary Relevance
Philly Proud
Creating Memories

Then the fun part… concept explorations!

“Working with the Design Group Italia people in New York brought knowledgeable insight throughout the entire project. We also pushed us to understand our brand from a different POV and that is incredibly valuable in a strategic project like this.”

Pack contents are mapped out with care before applying graphic details.

Hand sketches communicate the personal care that goes into every recipe – giving visual indications for flavoring that are easily managed.

Our designers were engaged in constant communication, probing, back-and-forth with vendors to find high-end structural packaging solutions.

They focused on raising brand equity on shelf in Di Bruno Bros stores and other retail sellers.
