At the intersection of creativity, innovation, and social transformation lies the Compasso d’Oro Historical Collection—a curated anthology of objects and ideas that have changed the way we live. These award-winning design projects are not merely icons of aesthetic achievement; they are tangible representations of cultural shifts, technological progress, and evolving lifestyles.
On May 7th 2025, ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale presented a volume that includes all Compasso d’Oro-winning projects, since Giò Ponti conceived the prize in 1954 up to 2022
From advancements in usability and feasibility to cutting-edge aesthetics and technological integration, the Compasso d’Oro has consistently honored works that encapsulate the spirit of their time. Rather than merely highlighting the prominence of individual objects, this volume delves into the deeper process by which innovation materializes into practical, life-enhancing design. Among the many featured projects, Design Group Italia is proud to be included multiple times, with three Compasso d’Oro awards received between 1979 and 2020.
In addition, for us, there is a fourth Compasso d’Oro to be added: the project Össur Power Knee has been awarded in 2024… And we are now ready for the next volume!
