On the occasion of our 50th anniversary, we invited some of our friends, partners, and design leaders to discuss design at La Triennale di Milano.
Designers have always been on the frontiers of progress, creating new products, services, and realities. While times and challenges change, the need for innovative solutions to difficult challenges remains constant. What will be the role of our profession moving forward into this period of transformation?
Speakers included Mauro Porcini, SVP & Chief Design Officer of PepsiCo; Fabio Sergio, Regional Design Director EALA at Fjord; Kaori Shiina, CEO, Hands On Design; Francesco Zurlo, Deputy Dean and Head of Product Design Course, School of Design, Politecnico di Milano; and, with input from Stefano Boeri, architect & president of the La Triennale Foundation, Cono Studio, Giorgio Tartaro and more. The conversation was moderated by journalist Luca de Biase.
We created a minimalistic, yet anniversary identity to mark the 50 years of DGI, to be used online and in social media. The event identity, applied both online, in print invitations and materials, and as spatial graphics at the Salone d’Onore at The Triennale di Milano. As part of the event, the graphics invited the guests to participate in the dialogue by answering questions on notes that would become parts of the decoration as the evening went on.
After the anniversary event, we and our guests wanted to continue the dialogue, so we started WHAT NEXT, a series of smaller events held at the DGI Kitchen, in which we discuss the future of design, innovation, and society with a wide range of leading scientists and professionals. Previous speakers have featured Martina Ardizzi, Stefano Moriggi, Domenico Sturabotti, and Luisa Damiano. The discussions are moderated by Luca De Biase.
After the talks, the conversation continues over aperitivos, designed as food experiences by Valentina Pozzobon.
