Milan Tips

Chiara Grana

In this series, our team members share their favorite places – be it restaurants, museums, interesting architecture or aperitivo spots – in Milan. First off, here are some of Product Designer Chiara Grana's top picks.

The Prada Foundation’s Observatory has a beautiful gallery space on top of the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery in the center of Milan. There’s a delicious Marchesi café for sweets in the covered shopping gallery (there’s also a beautiful bar designed by Wes Anderson at the Prada Foundation’s main location). Hangar Bicocca is a great museum that combines architecture and art, similarly to the Prada Foundation.

For concerts and live gigs, head to Magnolia. For books, visit the upstairs bookshop at 10 Corso Como. I would also recommend taking a walk in the historic Brera quarters. It’s a beautiful neighborhood with narrow streets, lovely buildings, and an overall really nice atmosphere.

Chiara is originally from a small town close to Mantua, Lombardy. She moved to Milan to study at IED, and has lived in the city ever since. Read more here about what Chiara and her team at DGI do.
